Welcome to Children First Empowerment
Children First is the Community Empowerment Area that includes Lee and Van Buren counties in Iowa. Community Empowerment is a statewide early childhood initiative that was established by the Iowa Legislature in 1998.
Community Empowerment was founded on the premise that communities and state government can work together to improve the well being of our youngest children. This effort unites agencies, organizations and community partners to speak with a shared voice to support, strengthen and meet the needs of all young children and their families.
